10月21日に「日本語教育推進法に期待する関係者の集い」――日本語議連幹部のシンポも　政府は「日本語教育推進会議」を設置

日本語教育推進法が施行されたのを受け、政府内に様々な動きが出る中で、日本語学校の関係者が10月21日に「日本語教育推進法に期待する集い」と題したイベントを東京都内で開催する。日本語学校の経営者ら67人が呼びかけ人に名を連ねた催しで、テーマは「日本語教育推進法施行への期待～日本語学校の役割と今後の可能性～」。集いでは日本語教育推進議員連盟の中川正春会長代行、馳浩事務局長、里見隆治、石橋通宏両事務局次長の4氏がパネリストとして参加するシンポジウムもあり、立法の当事者として今後の推進法の運用の在り方などを議論してもらう予定。（集いの詳細は別掲のＰＤＦ「開催のご案内」をご覧ください。また、集いの参加申し込みのＰＤＦも別掲しています）

日本語教育推進法の第27条は、政府に日本語教育を総合的かつ効果的に推進するため関係省庁担当者による「日本語教育推進会議」の設置を求めている。これを受けて政府はこのほど、文化庁次長と外務省大臣官房国際文化交流審議官を共同議長とし、内閣府、文部科学、総務、厚生労働、経済産業の各省の局長クラスで構成する「推進会議」を設置。実務者による課長クラスの幹事会も発足した。また、外部の日本語教育の専門家から意見を聞くための「日本語教育推進関係者会議」の設置を併せて申し合わせた。
推進会議は来年6月に日本語教育の推進に関する基本方針案をとりまとめ、閣議で決定する予定。政府は基本方針に基づいて日本語教育推進の事業を実施することになる。
